ok. ok i know ive been seriously slack so figured it was about time i got u all up to speed on my adventures around new zealand... i hope the photos have keep u salivating!! soooo.. opononi... i dont actually have any photos for here or anything to write as for the entire time we were here it rained, and i mean monsoon type of downfall. we managed to escape for a brief walk one morning before the next torrent. altho the walk was interesting as we stumbled upon the delights of opo the "gay" doplhin. a rather sad story really as basically there was this dolphin that made friends with people for 6months. it happened in the 50s and people travelled for miles around to see this amazing dolphin and swim with it. So everyone is getting all excited with this gay dolphin and then one day they find it washed up on the rocks dead. there are two schools of thought surrounding this event. 1. that people didnt like the dolphin and so they killed it. 2. that the dolphin was depressed at not having a mate and so comitted suicide, i jest u not!! so as u can see it was a rather uneventful few days, altho bloody freezing as in the middle of nowhere and no heating etc. so spent all the time wrapped up in my thermals, doing puzzles and wondering what might be past the clouds sights wise.
