New York didnt get off to the best of starts. The flight was fine but when i arrived it was absolutely throwing it down and freezing!! Havent seen rain like it for ages!

Got to my hostel and basically didnt leave the whole day because of the rain! Streets were flooding and everything. The only attempt i made was to a grocery store to buy some food which was only 200 metres away but i got soaked! Only having two days here i was pretty gutted. But it was also a bit of a blessing becuase it gave me a chance to try and catch up on some sleep! I had probably had about 10 hours sleep in 4days!! With lots of travelling inbetween. I was worried though becuase the guys in my room said the day before it was gorgeous weather but now they are going to have a months worth of rain in 3 days! Great! And lots of flights were getting cancelled becuase of the weather! Fingers crossed mine doesnt!

So the next day was the only chance to get some sight seeing done so i had to give it a go. Luckily the rain wasnt as hard as the previous night. I got onto the subway down to time square. Took me a while to figure out which train to catch but a nice girl helped me out! Time Square is a pretty cool place, bit of a vegas look about it with all the lights. Some pretty cool shops and cafes, especially the cheesecake shop and hersheys (recommended by emma). Saw the MTV studio as well and treated myself to a t shirt. Didnt hang around too long though as the rain was doing my head in so went back to the subway and headed over to fifth avenue. Basically just did some shopping which was what i wanted all long really!! The shopping there is so good!! So cheap compared to england and the clothes are better! Want to come back with more money and get loadsa new clothes!! Visited the rockefeller centre, bloomingdales, fao swartsz (the toy shop from BIG) and loads of other shops. Luckily the rain stopped for quite a while so i actually cheered up a bit and had a good time!! Also went for a quick look at central park but didnt bother walking it, too big and the weather didnt help. Oh yeah and got myself one of those huge pretzels from the street stalls, yum!

If i get chance in the morning i may use my subway ticket to go pay a quick visit to where the twin towers, just depends on the weather. Otherwise, next stop, HOME!!
