Hey!

Sorry it's been ages since the last blog. I'll try do this one well but there's so much to write about I'm sure I'll forget stuff.

So last time I wrote one I was hoping to see blue penguins. We did! We went to a really good sanctuary-type place where they've built burrows and planted vegetation to help them out. They're very small and very blue! We also got to see the Moeraki boulders which were really strange but pretty too.

We then went on to Kaikora to try and swim with dolphins. The first day it was too choppy unfortunately so we couldn't spot any pods to follow. Luckily the next day it was much better! It did mean we only just got back to return the campervan in time but apart from a toll we forgot to pay there weren't any extra charges (yea!)

That night we slept in Christchurch and got the plane the next day to Melbourne via Sydney. That was the end of New Zealand!

I loved Melbourne! It's such a nice city. We stayed there for a few nights. We saw Chinatown and went for a walk along the riverside at night where they have lots of random sculptures including 5 or 6 huge black towers from which fireballs erupt every few minutes. We also went up to an observation deck to see the city from above and it was beautiful. While we were i Melbourne there was a Tim Burton exhibition on which I loved! The whole thing was really well done and they had some awesome stuff like the batmobile, Edward scissor hand's hands and props from both Mars attacks and the new Alice in Wonderland film.

Next we got an overnight train to Sydney and stayed there for a couple of nights. The main sights of Sydney are just as spectacular as everyone says. We got to see the bridge and the opera house both in the day and lit up at night and both were beautiful. They have really nice botanical gardens there too with hundreds of massive fruit bats in the trees! While in Sydney we planned the rest of our time in Australia. We're really pushed for time but have managed to include most of the main places we wanted to see.

Aaaanyway, I'm very tired atm so I think I'm going to call it a night and finish this soon. Maybe tomorrow...we'll see!
