Hey!
So since my last blog entry I haven´t done a huge amount because of my foot. I had about a week by myself during which I did various touristy things such as visiting various churches and monestaries, and visiting the local archeological museum. Nothing majourly exciting, although the museum was fairly interesting. It was all about the various different civilisations that have been in Bolivia. I then had to leave my new hostel so had the excitement of trying to change with all my bags again.
Luckily the next day Paul returned from Rio so I had some company again. A good thing since I was getting very very bored and kind of running out of things to do! Unfortunately he wasn´t able to volunteer as the park was full, and I was told that I needed my cast on for another week so we were pretty much stuck in Cochabamba for another week.
We´ve done a few interesting things. We visited what is supposed to be the largest statue of Jesus in South America. To get to it you go up in a cable car so that was fun. The views over Cochabamba were great too. We´ve also visited a place called Palico Portales. It´s a fancy house built by a tin merchant. It´s stunning. Everything in it was imported from Europe, only the best of everything! There were lots of beautiful wooden carvings, fancy furniture and silk wallpaper. The grounds are pretty too.
Aside from that we´ve visited the local cinema a couple of times in the evening. Most films are shown with subtitles, not dubbed, so we could understand most of them apart from a few times where Russian or French was spoken and the English subtitles had been replaced by Spanish. It didn´t really matter though! As you can probably tell, there isn´t a huge amount to do in Cochabamba and after 2 weeks we´ve rn out of things to do.
I got my cast off last night. It wasn´t easy! It didn´t soften in the shower like they said it would so it took the both of us and 2 pairs of scissors (the first pair weren´t up to the job!) about half an hour to cut it enough to prise my foot out. Unfortunately it´s still really quite painful and I can´t walk without crutches so although we´re moving on to a different town tonight (Sucre) I might not be able to do much still. Hopefully it´ll get better and I won´t have to go back to the doctors but I´ll have to wait and see. If it does get better, there´s dinosaur footprints and a working mine to visit. Fingers crossed!

Suzy Hey Kat, can't msg u on fb at work so thought i'd post here. Sorry to hear that you are still in pain with your foot. It must have been really difficult managing on your own for a week. Take it easy, try not to do too much even though i am sure there are thousands of fantastic places you want to visit/things you want to do in Bolivia! Hope you are more mobile soon. Enjoy your time in Sucre (if you are still there! :-)) I'm off to Turkey in 10 days time! Thinking of you all, have a fab adventure wherever you go, Suz xx
