I am cheating a bit as we are actually in Boston but I felt guilty about not doing any entry during our 2 wks in France, mainly as we were too busy eating and drinking! Highlights included bike rides along canals and pretty villages and more half timbered buildings than I have ever seen. We bought croissants at a bakery for breakfast with coffee at a local cafe where the local men were having their morning glass of wine. At lunchtime there the grandfather, red faced and twinkly eyed chased down a bottle of red wine with a pint of beer, raising it to us with a wink and a smile. Mornings it was closed we drove off to explore and although we could get limitless wine at a vineyard shop every quarter mile a cup of coffee was hard to come by. We drove back the car laden with wine, over a kilo of mustard and a kilo of my favourite cote d'or milk chocolate. I love France. I'll try and do better by New England.
