ROTORUA (23rd JAN - 24th JAN)

We decided to make a few stops on the way to Napier to break down our journey! It took nearly 4 hours to get to Rotorua but it was well worth it, it was such a nice little place altough it smelt a little because it is cover in thermal spas and they really stink from the sulphur but hey you get used to it!

It was glorious sunshine so we decided to make the most of it (you know we might not see sun again!). We went to a place called skyline and had a good few goes on the Luge, it's basically go-karting down the side of a mountain and it was soooo much fun! You had to go down a scenic route first, then an intermediate course and then an advanced course, all the while sporting a very attractive helmet! I got a little bit cocky after a while and my go-Kart wasn't even stayin on the ground. I didn't feel like I had done enought that day so I went on the skyswing (its exactly what it says!). its a bit like a bunge but your in a cage and it swings you off the side of a cliff and drops you 150kph.

We then took a walk around Kuirau park, Pete claims it was my idea but I know he loved it! It was full of spa pools and was so hot, you couldn't walk around there for long. That was it really, but i will definitely come back here, theres so much more to see of really unusual land scapes plus I'm going for a mud bath!
