Our planned departure from Leon was little delayed due to a couple of pounding headaches from the previous night's exploits and also as we were enjoying some good chat with the Aussie guys we had hung out with in Leon. We prolonged as long as we could for the inevitable date with the chicken bus but we could wait no more as we wanted to arrive in Granada before dark. We left Ulitla at 6am to go back to the Port of La Ceiba. Lex and his unlucky spell of recent motion sickness thought it best to have a sea sickness tablet before the rough boat trip. On the way to the island he was doubled over on his seat with his head in a plastic bag sweating from head to toe. When I tried to help he snapped at me and told me not to touch him......little s***! So with Lex back in the game we had a vomit free boat trip back to mainland....Hooo...

After a very early start we were on our way back to the coast.... YAY!!! Saying our farewells to Guatemala we headed towards Honduras to continue our adventures. What we were informed would be two busses and 10 hours travel time somehow turned into five busses and 14 hours travelling time! Crossing the border was painless but as it was much later than we had expected there were no busses to take us into our destination, Copan Ruinas. Leaving Antigua we were pleased to see a mini van with only 4 other passengers taking us on the short journey to Lake Atitlan where our destination was a small village on the side of the lake called San Pedro.
