Sounds like a good trip already - thanks for the updates KC - have to say hotel reception staff in LA are generally very rude and brusque in my experience, so not remotely surprised to hear about Joyless. The waiting staff at some restaurants are all failed actors too and very bitter... but everyone else is quite pleasant!
