Today we headed for Canberra after having a great time with Paula and james in Sydney. Arriving late we found the nearest hostel possible, which ended up being the YHA, a little expensive but a lot better kept than many other hostels we have stayed in, the bed and bed sheets actually felt really clean and fresh haha. The gorgeous town of Port Macquarie was once a penal settlement for the hardened convicts but is now a town with gorgeous beaches and a great Koala Hospital in a wooded area close by. Coffs harbour was just a one day stop off, to fill our last leg on the east coast, breaking up the journey to Sydney but we're glad we took a peak. Coffs Harbour is mostly known for its big banana. We absolutely loved Byron Bay! Such a cool place with amazing beaches, a hippy vibe and renound for its surf culture. A place where everybody told us to stop on the way down the south coast, and we're glad we did! It has been nicknamed North Bondi due to its great surf and popularity and is now loosing its small seaside charm, as people flock here from all directions.
