Hello All,

Well we arrived in the sunny Northland on saturday and met with Shirley, Ian and Leanne, we then went back to their house (which is amazing) and had bbq'd sausages. They then showed us around the local beaches which are very beautiful white sandy coves and then we went out for dinner. On sunday, we went to the town basin which is a harbour with some restaurants and a few shops which is really nice. We then came back and went into the pool as it very hot up here!!! On Monday Alan and I started looking for some work and then went into town to have a look around.

Yesterday, we went to the bay of islands and hired a kayak to go to some of the beaches on the islands which was great fun, although we thought we would be in one of the kayaks where your legs are covered and you sit the hole so I didnt bother to put suncream on my legs - now I can barely walk Im so burnt!!!! Alan is a bit ill again probably just from the sun and the really high pollen count so today we are just having a lazy day looking for work and helping Shirley put up the Christmas tree!! Shirely and Ian have been great and very welcoming and hospitable which is great.
