We left Koh Samui on the 12th and headed back to the west coast to Krabi town.
We'd heard good things so were excited to get down there, until our bus driver decided to only take us to the outskirts of town, he tried to get us to pay him an extra 30 baht each to take us to the centre but we were having none of it so walked and got a singtaw, which is basically an old army jeep with benches in the back.
Managed to find a place for 100 baht each a night, which is like 2 quid, except there was a mango tree above the bungalows which made it sound like someone was being shot every time one fell on the tin roofs.
We went on a tour of the Phi Phi islands, which was a bit like herding sheep, there were so many tourists!
The scenery was amazing though and we got to go to Maya beach, which is where 'the beach' was filmed, kat fell out of a palm tree. Smooth.
Claire met some ozzies and an american when she did her trip (she did it the day after kat, coop and nemo as she wasnt feeling very well) so we all went out on the lash in Ao Nang, which is the beachy part about 30 mins away from Krabi town. Kat and Claire introduced the boys to the wonders of mojitos and it went down hill from there.
We went on another boat trip which sounded amazing on the flyer, a snorkelling trip on a proper big boat, snorkelling with reef sharks, puffer fish etc with a chance to try scuba diving for free. The reality was a bit different, we were on a long tail boat, with no scuba diving and we saw about 3 types of fish, although we did get to feed then banana and ended up having a bit of a banana fight trying to get the fish to swarm each other.
They took us to an island which is attached to chicken island when the tide is out but had a few issues with approaching tornados that we saw in a storm a couple of miles away from us.
At this point we all pooed ourselves and asked if we should be going away rather than towards the storm, which the tour guys thought was halarious, claire was already planning on how she was going to stay afloat whilst keeping her camera dry and not drowning while kat was working out whether in fact she liked either of them enough to slow down her fast getaway from the tornado by swimming in the other direction.
Shes still not sure.
