To start off with the main attraction for Byron Bay that everyone seems to talk about has got to be 'Cheeky Monkeys' which was luckly literally across the road from our hostel which makes struggling to get home at the end of the night a lot easier! Airlie Beach & Whitsunday Islands: Well this is going to be the most difficult blog to write and will explain why........ Both sat here and seriously, genuinely, absolutely no exageration we are actually both still drunk. Booked to go to Magnetic Island today was suppose to get the bus at 9am but waking up at 10am isn't going to quite work, and only woke up because we heard music playing and thought it was still night time and there was a party going on!!!!...

Back to reality in a 6 bedded shared dorm, the hostel was quite chilled out but the room was the actual biggest sweat pit with a flimsy pointless fan in the corner of the room. On our first night we ventured on an unexpected Backpackers arranged bar crawl The place was booming, it was like we were on a usual girly holiday in a party town in Europe, 4 different clubs and ended up with free drinks all night, with the reps offering to get us drinks on their bar tab...

Wow, what a 14 hour bus journey, we both won't be rushing to do that again! Managed to sleep on and off. Arrived at the hostel in the morning, was checking in thinking we were joining the boys Kirk, Joe and Ash in their room which is what we had booked, but something had gone wrong along the way and we ended up NOT complaining. Don't know how we swung it (it must have been our charm and our fresh look after the journey, lol) but we ended up in a two storey aprtm...

OMG, what a mega journey,.....ferry....train.....bus.....then car.....finally got there. Didn't know who we were staying with at this point, a distant relative of Lauras who she had never met, we had spoke to her over the phone only a couple of days before and it seemed a surprise to her that we were actually arriving....oops.
