Ryan & Kasia's Travels
Hey peeps!!!
Well, it was inevitable...I had to get sick sooner or later. I've had the flu for the last couple days. Our first day here was spent reading at the hostel and getting better, but today I was back in business. We did like the Romans... We saw the Colloseum first and it was crazy. Especially thinking about the movie Gladiator. It was built in the 2nd century...That's old. So then we moved onto the Palintin Hill with all the ruins and the old parliament buildings. By this time it was getting hot. I'm talkin 35 degrees hot. Felt like Greece all over again. From there we went to the Pantheon. There's so much to tell about the architecture of this place. It's a perfect dome with the exact distance across all around. Same building as in the book "Angels and Demons". The Oculus is cool too. The hole allows water in. Weird. But today the sun was shining in...Looked cool.
From there we were walking toward the Fontain Trevi when Kasia and I saw some very familiar faces. We were walking down this tiny little street and saw Owen Wilson (From such films as Wedding Crashers and Starsky and Hutch) and Woody Harrelson (From such movies as Natural Born Killers and White Men Can't Jump). They were riding their pedal bikes, trying not to make eye contact with anyone. But Owen Wilson's nose is recognizable anywhere. We were star struck and no one else around noticed them except us.
Then we saw the Fontain Trevi which was awesome. This album cover picture of it does it more justice than mine. There so many people blocking the way and it was hard to get far enough back.
Then we saw the Spanish Steps. Again, very nice but there was renovation going on so it took away from it a little.
Everywhere we walked we could have taken 100 pics. This city is beautiful and full of character. Couldn't decide what to take pics of.
So tomorrow we are gonna tackle the Vatican City. Gonna be busy for sure so we're gettin up early to beat some of the rush. Things are good and hot here so we hope the same for you. Just noticed the Oil won. Good, hold on...We're comin home soon for game 6. Oil in 7.
Ciao...Talk to you all tomorrow.
