So, what are your summer plans? Leave me a comment, I want to know. Here's a rundown of mine so far.
¤ This weekend, May 8-10 - down to Savannah to hang out with Lauren and Ashley, then to Jacksonville for the Shinedown concert
¤ Next weekend, May 14-18 - up to Myrtle Beach with my cousin Ashley
¤ May 29 - July 2 - leaving for 4 1/2 weeks in St. Petersburg, Russia to study at SPSPU
¤ July 4 - Another 4th of July BBQ, anyone? Go down to the square and watch fireworks, then come back and grill out?
¤ Aug 29 - Sept 1 - Dragon Con in Atlanta
Between all that I'll probably be hanging out at the lake, working some, flying around a bit if I can, since flights are pretty full during July (remember last year's Philly fiasco?), and going to visit some out of town friends.
Until then, I am getting ready for Russia! I am taking three classes: International Economic Relations, The History of St. Petersburg in War and Revolution, and a Russian Culture and Language class. I have prep work for the classes, of course, so even though school is technically over, I'll still be working on stuff right on through May. In fact, my history class is about 85% pre-work. It gives us more time to cover the stuff in class and more time to go out and learn from Russia itself instead of staring at books all day long. I'm also organizing packing lists, getting whatever else I need, and making sure my life here is taken care of (house, roommate, dog, bills, etc). I do have a Google Calendar for anyone else that has it. I'll be keeping a travel blog here, and I also have a more personal livejournal for close friends.
