We arrived in Ko Tao after a short trip on the ferry from Ko Pha Ngan. I personally didn't see the turtle like resemblance of the island. I was hoping the island's name was because it was home to many turtles. We had no such look in spotting them though.That night we watched the sun set against a backdrop of long tail boats. It was really beautiful.

The first day we visited The Turtle conservation centre. The turtles are housed in small open tanks but appear lively and well cared for. Hopefully the turtles we saw will be well enough to be released back into the wild soon.

The following day we went on a snorkelling trip with a company called Aqua Tao. First, our snorkelling guide took us to a place called Japanese Gardens. The snorkelling wasn't very good but the view of Nang Yuan beach was beautiful. I got separated from the group for a short period but it felt like ages. After that I made sure that Jer stayed next to me at all times. He held my hand while we snorkeled and it put me at ease and was actually quite romantic!

Next, we went snorkelling in a place called The View. This was far better. It was just a pity the snorkelling gear wasn't the best quality. Here, we saw beautiful coral in all different shapes and colours. Some of it looked like a brain and some looked like mushrooms. The colours of the sea life was really mesmerising. At one stage I even forgot about my fear of water as I gazed upon clown fish, triggerfish, angel fish and many more creatures that we're not sure what they are called. No turtles to be seen unfortunately.

The nightlife in Ko Tao was just brilliant. Our favourite bar by far was called "Lotus"which is located right on Sairee beach. Here, we sat on beanie bags sipping beers and really good cocktails while watching the most amazing fire show. It was like nothing we'd ever seen before. I was scared but excited when the fire thrower started spinning fire around our heads. The music was hopping playing all my favourites and we had to try the infamous buckets. This was a big mistake now known by us as the bucket incidence.

We loved Ko Tao and would return back there in a heartbeat.
