Our stop today brought us to the island of Mykonos. We did a tour called Scenic Views of Mykonos and it was wonderful. We started with a stop at Kalafati Beach. We were able to walk on the beach and put our toes in the Aegean Sea. The water was a bit chilly, but still beautiful. The beach was more rocky than sandy, so a little hard on the bare feet!
We also visited a monastery, however, it was a bit short lived. As our guide was giving us the history of the monastery, one of the monks told us we had to leave because he didn't want our tour guide in the monastery. We're not quite sure why he singled out only our group, but we missed out on that stop.
Our next stop was a beach side restaurant called Ithaki. We enjoyed some cheese, olives, stuffed grape leaves, chicken bread and, of course, some ouzo! The waterfront was absolutely gorgeous and it was a nice break for the morning. This was our final stop for the day and we were dropped off at the port where our tender boats were awaiting us.
Before heading back to the ship, we did a little shopping and more picture taking. We found a Greek bakery and sampled something like a cheese pie......yum! After more walking and shopping, we decided it was time for lunch. We dined on the waterfront at the Music Cafe. Once again, it was time to try something new! I had my first gyro today and some more saganaki. It was so good, thank goodness we decided to do more shopping to walk that off!
We decided to have a quiet night tonight so we can rest up for the White Hot Party and Chocoholic Buffet. Being an NCL specialist has its perks......we have VIP passes to go early.....yay us! Our entertainment for the evening was Dancing With the Jade Stars. My tummy muscles still hurt from all the laughing!
It's now time to go to bed as tomorrow is our last port day in Katakolon. Because the Internet is so slow on the ship, I'll be loading a TON of pictures when I get home, so be sure to check back!
