Thought it was time I updated my blog......

I've been in Cairns now for just over a month. I'm staying at the Serpent hostel, just a 5 min drive from the centre of cairns. It is a really good hostel with its own pool and bar!!! I've actually managed to get work in the kitchen here (yep learning how to cook more ) so it means I don't have to pay for my accommodation and get a free evening meal so am planning to stay here a little while longer, possibly to the the new year.

So far I haven't seen many of the sites around Cairns. I've had a brief trip out to the reef but didn't see much so will be going again. Took a trip to some waterfalls just outside of cairns, they were very nice (I forgot to take my camera, so no pics sorry!). A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine from back in the UK came to cairns with her friend for a couple of days during there holiday here, so we took a day trip to Kuranda Village. Taking the skyrail up, stoppping off in the rainforest a couple of times and to the Barron Falls, then arriving at the village, had a wander around, went to the wildlife gardens and got to meet the Koalas and Wallabies.

Thats all about it for now, oh and I am getting eaten alive by all the mozzies!!!!!!!
