Scenic World
Today I went to Scenic World in Katoomba. Here is a Scenic Railway down into the rainforest, a boardwalk around the rainforest, a Scenic cableway bak up to the top of the Centre and then the Scenic Skyway that travels across the rainforest.
I started off with the ride on the steepest incline railway in the world! The 415m descent will took me through a cliff side tunnel into the ancient rain forest. For someone that doesn't do rides at Alton Towers this was fun!!!!
Once at the bottom I followed the path through a Jurassic rainforest.
Looking at some of the fascinating plants and trees and reading the history of the valley. Along the way was a Coal Mine Exhibition with a 10 minute video display located in the coal mine entrance about the miners and the mining area.
Then to get back up to the top I went on the steepest aerial cable car in Australia! A 545 metre ride.
Once back at the Centre I had some lunch, sitting on the veranda at the top soaking in the sun and views and then headed to the Skyway.
Nowhere else in the world can you experience this thrill.
The Skyway takes you on a 720 metre journey, 270m above ancient ravines and dazzling waterfalls - be suspended over Jurassic rain forests as you glide smoothly across the sky.
This ride boasts a world first - an Electro-Sceni glass floor. At the flip of a switch, breathtaking views are revealed through the cabin floor.
The 360 degree bird's eye view takes in the Three Sisters, Katoomba Falls, Mount Solitary and the never ending expanse of the Jamison Valley.
It was such an wonderful place, there were more walks I could have done but didn't think it would be a good idea to go off into the bush on my own!!!!
