Karen's Aussie Extravaganza
My last postcard now .....
We leave tomorrow to get the plane at 3.30pm, then we arrive in sunny London at 5.20am gonna be a long horrible flight! keeping our fingers crossed that we will get upgraded again, yeh right!
Well Melbourne has been really nice, its a great city. The Draculars restaurant on Saturday night was brilliant! as you arrive you get greeted by a vampire, and shouted at about what happens, you then get a ghost train to your table, its hard to explain but it really was such a laugh. The food was amazing, and all through the meal you watch a live show, also live comedy acts. They were all really talented and very funny.
The next day we had to be up at 6am for our great ocean road tour, we decided to do a tour in the end and not hire a car as it ws slightly cheeper, plus we didn't know where we were going. It was a really great day out, and we saw plenty.
The best bit of Melbourne has definatly been my "Neighbours" experience, yeh cheesy i know but we have watched neighbours since we were kids so it had to be done!
We went to Ramsey street, which was really quite small, alot smaller than what you imagine. Was very strange to be stood there looking round at the Kennadys, Scully, Harold and Lous place plus all the rest! was brilliant though and everyone was very excited! glad we weren't the only geeks! I felt quite sorry for the people who lived in this street, which is actually called "pine oak crescent" not Ramsey Street. Not to sorry for them though as they get paid alot of money for the outside of there houses to be used in filming!
That day we had complete Neighbours overload as in the evening we went to a neighbours theme night! sorry it had to be done.... and we met Carl Kennady, Stuart and Izzy! was gutted that Toadie and Harold weren't there but oh well. They were all really nice and chatted to us all, Dr Kennady was lovely really sweet, bit of a ladies man really ha ha! was very sureal seeing him in real life! All the girls loved Stuart and he got quite a bit of attention, he was gorgeous though!
Well thats it now, our last full day is almost over, cant belive 3 months has gone just like that.
Iam looking forward to coming home as i have missed everyone alot, although im not looking forward to being back in Boring Basingstoke again! guess i cant stay in Australia forever though, or can i?????
See you soon
Love Karen
