Holaaa!
So it's been a few days, I had originally meant to try to write more, but oh well, Illtry to keep up more! :)
This weekend was really fun, on Saturday night we went out to the discos with the Spanish girls we've been hanging out, it was soo much fun, dancing and partying with them, they are crazzzyyy though, I think we got home at five am, and we left early! haha the others stayed out til 6 or 7 I think. Sunday was wonderful, I slept in through the siesta (haha, that is like 3 in the afternoon in case you're wondering!) it was the latest I think I have ever slept (though in terms of the time difference, its similar to home). Then we went and had some coffee with the boys, though one of the guys on our trip, Andrew, has been pretty sick, and therefore not in the best mood :(. poor guy.
Monday we walked around the city some more, we're getting to know it verrryyy well. We went to Campus as well in order to get to know it a little bit, its very small, but they kind of do college different here. Instead of the school being in one place, like Iowa State is, it's like a bunch of different schools in different cities. For example, the medical school is in one city, the law school in another, and Cáceres has the teaching school (the girls we´ve been hanging out with are English teaching students). So because of this, there´s a lot less buildings and what not than Iowa State. My roommate and I tried to walk home and ended up getting miserably lost. It is about 5 km (3 miles or so) from school to our flat, so we ended up catching the bus because we had nooo idea where to go, haha.
Tuesday was our first day of classes. I sincerely hope that they get harder...I have more Spanish than most of the people that we´re with, so I have to do extra work in one of the classes, but the actual class time is kind of soul crushingly boring because it seems very simple so far...but like I said, hopefully it will get a little harder! I also have to take anther class completely separate from the rest of the group, but it doesn´t start until October because its not a special class (our classes are specially arranged), but this one isn´t, its just with the other students. It´s the one I´m most nervous about! The other´s have a literature class that I´ll probably end up going to also because otherwise I´d be all alone on campus while they are in class! Plus it´s a literature class )I loveee to read= and the prof is very cute! haha. On another note, my roommate and I attempted walking there and were succesful! we were very proud of ourselves! It´s about an hour walk, and its lovely in the morning when we go because the air is very cool in the morning and it´s mostly downhill, haha.
Today we met up with the girls and they took us for breakfast, churros y chocolate. It´s like hot coco and this fried bread (kind of tastes like funnel cake without the sugar). It was yummmyyy, I drank coffee instead of hot chocolate beause I dont like chocolate very much (I know, I´m weird). After that, we went to the market that they have every wednesday. It´s like an open air market, they have soooo much stuff! and really cheap! scarves for like €2 (about $2.60!) and bags and jewelry and all sorts of meats and produce (that part was sorta smelly haha). It was really fun to walk around, talk with the vendors, and find cute stuff! I´ve been to markets like this in Mexico before, but it was kinda different because there were soo many people, and a lot of the salespeople were gypsies! which I found interesting.
Anywayyy, it´s siesta right now, and I am actually pretty tired, so I´m gonna go take a nap!
loveee!
