I had a wonderful peaceful night at Porongurup. This camp site is lovely and a credit to the owners. Whilst I was doing my dishes in the campers kitchen before I left I got talking to a really nice retired couple from Bendigo in Victoria. They were on the road for 7 months and had this lovely old blue camper with their names on it. I talked to them about Castle Rock which they were doing today and also my trip. Although the showers were utterly fantastic here and the swimming pool had been great, I didn’t like this site much and was glad to leave. It was too busy, the sites were too close together and the people there just seemed a bit arrogant to me. It was mainly young 30ish couples travelling together who I generally find to be not very friendly, arrogant and just plain annoying. I’m getting to realise that I prefer the quieter and more remote camp sites ...

I slept really well last night, about 10 hours. About 9 or 10 hours is average at the moment, all this sea air tires me out! It had rained all night. It was still showery when I got up and had to dodge the showers to do my ablutions and do the dishes. There was no sign of any roos this morning, the rain must have put them off or they were sleeping wherever it is that they sleep. G'day and welcome to a wet day 24. Yesterday had been so lovely weather wise but today I woke up to the sound of rain lashing the camper. I had to have my breakfast inside the camper today.
