Happy New Year! Welcome the year of Snake.
Started the New year by having a massive lunch, like son-Goku, and then going to the square of Lasipalatsi. At the square was celebreation of Chinese New Year with different performances, food and stores selling their products. And I finally saw dragon and lion dances. I have always wanted to see it live and it didn't disappoint me. Food stalls were selling different Chinese snacks and food but I was too full to eat anything. I was only missing something sweet but unfortunately they weren't selling it. Well, I'm going to leave that part for the trip. There was also broadcasted live TV-show from Beijing which gave nice atmosphere for the whole event.
Of course it wasn't anything compared to Real Chinese celebration but at least a little touch to their culture and the most important celebration. I think it's unique and nice way to celebrate. Well, I should be in China during New Year to experience it for real. Anyways, I had good time with great people and learning about Chinese culture, from probably the best Chinese teacher.

NordicWhale Thank you for the sharing. Chinese New Year celebration certainly is the biggest Asian fest in Finland and it offers us the chance to taste a bit of Chinese culture. :D btw do you find learning Chinese difficult?
kakkoi Hey NordicWhale! Well, I think it is kind of easy. Of course tones are a bit tricky to learn but I guess once one learns them it will be much easier to learn it. At least grammar is one of the easiest :D
