Hello!

Our last day in Bangkok... After lazing about it our nice air-conditioned room until we had to check out at 12. We checked into a tiny room where the door wouldn't open properly as the bed was in the way, with a small fan which was powered by the key (we used a playing card and my penknife to make it stay on while we out so it wasn't roasting in there when we returned). We visited the Grand Palace. I say visited, we walked over there and had a look, they wanted to charge us to go in to this temple and I'm really bored of temples so we just saw what we could for free and left again! As internet cafes are one of the few air conditioned places I justified spending an hour on the computer to watch the new episode of Doctor Who :) That night we sat in a bar with a bucket of rum and coke, next to some guys who had bought some bugs- Grace ate one, I spent 10 minutes umming and ahhing until finally putting it in my mouth and then spitting it back out. Then we randomly bumped into Josh and Richard, drank some more, they got some ridiculous henna tattoos and Grace got her lip pierced!

After 3 hours sleep we got onto a bus to Koh Samet, an island off of the east coast of Thailand, it's pretty cool here, we've just spent the past few days lazing about on the beach in deckchairs. The 'bungalow' we were staying in was bug infested but for the money we were paying, you can't complain! We went out one night and saw some Muaythai boxing, it was a bit uncomfortable when 2 10-year-olds were in the ring, but the rest were adults and it wasn't too bad.

We're now in a village on the Thai-Cambodian border (I forget what it's called hence the Koh Samet location) and we're getting a bus to Phnom Pehn tomorrow morning, today has just been taking up with travelling, as I'm sure tomorrow will be too! The bus journey wasn't too bad, apart from all the waiting around and confusion at the border and then being completely ripped off when attempting to change money- I'm yet to get a good deal when changing money around!
