So I know that we don't want to carry luggage around. That limits us to a backpack for a month. Crazy, but doable. (Especially since we don't have to pack 20 pair of shoes like Mom!)
So for the past couple of weeks I've taken over the dining room, piling it up with the gear we expect to use on our trip.
So far...
- Backpacks (one around 4500 and the other around 2000)
- Packing cubes
- Bathroom goodies collected from my NY trips (soap, shampoo, and conditioner in travel sizes)
- LED headlamp flashlights
- First aid kit
- Sleeping sack and small pillow for those not so nice places we are going to stay
- Flip flops and shoes that aren't falling apart (yet)
- Handheld camcorder and journal to cover both old skool and new skiool journaling
- A new micro laptop so I can keep up with work and keep this journal posted for family and friends
- An ecletic assortment of odds and ends: caribiner with compass, currency converter, BJJ patches, zipper locks, ...
My goal over the next day or two is to wrap up the packing list. Make copies of the passports and rail tickets, pack my bags, get any last minute work items lined up, and then enjoy the company of my son on the trip.
