Thursday 2nd April
Got to Bangkok airport after having a very sleepless night indeed.... I think I got the point where i was so tired i couldn’t sleep! 4 hours in night nights is just getting silly now!!!!!!!!!!
Boarded the plane to Phuket, 1 ½ hour flight, arrived and haggled for the best price for a taxi as Khao Lak is an hour’s drive away from the airport, Beautiful and sunny here, Arrived at the hotel and it’s amazing, we managed to get a free upgrade to the deluxe garden room and deluxe doesn’t do it justice at all.. We have a private garden with bridge going to our room which is massive, 32” plasma screen, free wifi , walk in wash room which is as bigger than my kitchen at home, Beach bar is right outside which Jools is very happy about.
Just been sat on the beach whilst there was a thunder storm out at sea although the sun is still scorching hot and it hasn’t rained yet. We are here for 2 nights before we go out to sea for 4 days on the diving live aboard (liver board for Liz & Hillary ;-)
We have hired a moped and went for a ride around to explore, going out for the day on it tomorrow.
Friday 3rd April
After having a lovely sleep, went down to breakfast, then went out on the bike, but before we left the hotel we ran out of petrol, I did think Jools was messing about at first, so one of the security guards went and got us some petrol which came in 2 whiskey bottles, not a very good start for our first day out. We got on our way in the scorching heat, far too hot to wear our helmets (mum if you’re reading this we took every safety precautions that was available i.e. riding a little slower than normal.
Rode for about 1 hour trying to find a waterfall which I don’t think actually existed but we persevered and kept searching, resulting in only finding gravel tracks for roads, I think we would have managed it on a crosser bike instead of a moped!!! All in all we had a great morning exploring.
We are now having a torrential downpour with thunder & lightening, if this was in England this would be very traumatic indeed but we are sat outside under our umbrella.
Off out on the dive boat tomorrow so won’t be making any entries for about 5 days, it may be longer if we bump into any Pirates.
