Days 50 and 51
Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. We arrived at 13.00 expecting to see amazing skyscrapers but all we saw was fog and mist! We docked In Victoria Harbour on Kowloon side and were hoping and praying we'd pull up so that we on the starboard side would have a view of Hong Kong Island and we weren't disappointed! What a view (when the fog lifted!) As soon as we were cleared, we were off. Six days at sea is a long time and we couldn't wait to walk 'properly'. We were told about a market called Ladies Market in Mong Kok and that's where we headed. We went to the wrong market first and it was clear we were in the wrong place. Definitely no other blondes there! In the evening we had a wonderful dinner but before dinner we watched an amazing laser light show from our balcony which lasted about ten minutes. The following day, everything was much clearer and brighter. We took the Star Ferry across to HK Island, and did touristy things, like going up tall buildings and The Peak on the Funicular railway. Then I said goodbye to Phil and did a bit of retail therapy. Woohoo! Back on board for another light show had dinner in the restaurant with Chris and Lin. Chris and Tricia disembarked today; tomorrow we should have new dinner guests!I have a very sore throat and bad cold coming!!Ah well three days at sea now before Bangkok!
