Well I am having a brilliant time with Paula!! She arrived late on Thursday night and so we didn´t get up to much as she was exhausted. On Friday we went to see Christ the Redeemer which was really spectacular. We almost didn´t get to see it as by the time we made our way up the mountain it was really cloudy and we could only see his feet. We stayed at the top amusing ourselves taking silly photos and then a mirale was performed and the skies cleared and there was Jesus!!!! The views were so amazing and Rio is just such a beautiful city. We then walked from Ipanema to Copacabana and took the cable car up to Sugar Loaf. We were having lots of fun eating ice creams and taking photos of monkeys and just before the sun was about to set realised that we weren´t on sugar loaf and had to get another cable car to it!!! Made it in time for sunset which was great! The following day we had a really lazy day on Ipanema beach and just relaxed. In the evening we went to an amazing Brazilian restaurant where I ate my own body weight in meat!!! It was absolutely delicious! We then watched a Brazilian show which was a bit disappointing as the performers looked really bored but there was a female footballer who was amazing and the capeoira was so cool I want to try it back home! Yesterday we went hangliding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was brilliant! We had to run off a cliff which was just a tiny bit mad as you keep running whist in mid air but the views of the city and sea wre incredble and you felt like you were flying! After a quick trip to the beach we said goodbye to Rio and got a flight to Salvador. Was really sad to leave Rio as it is such a great city with so much to do. Arrived in Salvador around 6pm yesterday and stayed in a really cute Pousada in Barra which was close to the sea. The area was a bit scary at night and we didn´t feel particularly safe so we are now a bit further along in a hotel which is really lovely. Had another lazy day by the pool (I blame Paula who wants a tan!) and planning to go for some traditional feijoida tonight yum x
