Hola amigos!!! Well I am now in Buenos Aires and I absolutely love it!! Arrived on Sunday and am doing a homestay for 2 weeks with an Argentinian lady while I go to Spanish scool. It was so funny when I arrived at her flat as we couldn´t communicate with each other as se couldn´t speak any English and Spanish was awful! I just nodded a lot and even though I said I don´t understand she kept trying just in case I miraculously discovered I was actually fluent in the language. Was relieved to find 2 other students staing with her - a 20 year old American guy and a 27year old Mexican girl who are great and it really helped having them there! Susana (the Argentinian lady) has a dog called Pom Pom who is adorable! Alex the American showed me round Palmero where I am staying and we went for ice cream which was delicious!

Have had 2 days at Spanish school and it is proving to be bloody difficult!!! Had a strop on the first day as I was really struggling but made better progress yesterday. It doesn´t help that our class is in the afternoon and my brian switches of at lunchtime!! There are 4 of us in the class and the teacher insists on speaking only Spanish at you even if you have no idea what she is saying. It is really good fun though I just hope I make some progress so I can actually have a conversation with an Aregntinian without hand signals or drawings! Went exploring this morning to Plaza St Martin and there was an exhibition of bears all decorated in each country. The bear of Great Britan was so rubbish!! Had a look round Florida Avenue which is like Oxford Street and I am about to go to class! I have my first tango lesson his evening, both a private and a group one so I am very excited!!! Right I better go to class don´t want to be late for a 3rd day in a row!!! Chau xxxxx
