Hi everyone. We are still in Bruges, leaving for Delft tomorrow. We have already had some adventures in Bruges, but this is the weirdest one:I keep running into this girl--I call her Hat Girl or Hattie because she always wears this blue flowery hat. She's English, and she's travelling with her mother and grandmother and seems EXTREMELY bored. Well, her mom and gran don't talk to her that much, and all day she's scribbling in her notebook. She looks about twelve. But I keep running into her. The first time I saw her we were at a pub and the girl was sitting at the table next to us. Then her family switched tables, and I didn't see her again. This morning my mom and I were sitting on some steps when my mom quickly whispered, "There she is! There's Hat Girl!" I sprang up and looked out of the gate. And there she was, strolling around ahead of her gran and mom. She looked back for a second, and saw me. I went back to the steps.
Then we were heading over to a museum to find a bathroom, and when my dad went into the museum to help Jacob find one, there she was again. Strolling around a tree a couple feet away from us. I gasped. Did she know it was me again?
I started scribbling in my notebook of a sketch of her, and at least she didn't see my drawing. After we left, I kept looking behind me and she was there, off in the distance. Then we lost her. Phew. Hope we don't run into her again!!!
