Day one:
So this is my first blog entry!!
Better make it interesting or no one will read it again!
I left the UK at 2pm yesterday and although it was only a 6.5hr journey it felt pretty epic, maybe it is more to do with the thought of leaving my family & friends for 5months (I have tears in my eyes now as I type, so I think I may still be a bit emotional!).
I waved goodbye to my Mum and Sister at the airport with tears in my eyes and felt quite shaky on the flight. I don't think I managed to stay seated for more than 30mins (much to the annoyance of the people sitting next to me!)
I was very spaced when I arrived in NY at 5pm, I am so lucky that my first stop is with a friend (Tracy Faloon who I use to work with at Rivet). To see a friendly face at the end of my journey was really needed!
Her appt in right in the centre of town (a few blocks from ground zero) and is amazing, she has a great balcony which over looks the city.
Last night we went out for Margaritas and tacos at a lovely Mexican restaurant. It was beautifully warm so we sat outside and chatted, it was lovely but I was knackered so I went to bed at 10pm (3am UK time).
So....I have just woken up and stood out on Tracy's balcony, it gave me goose pimples, as New York sky line is amazing. I am off to a diner to have bagels and coffee for breakfast and then will explore the city.
For the first time I am gettign excited, my adventure has really started now, best go out and live it!
Miss you all xxx
