G'day peeps! Were in AUSTRALIA and loving it! we arrived in Melbourne on Monday and have been none stop sight seeing.
On our first day we explored the Southbank, Docklands, Olympics, Federation Square, Centre Place & Alexandra gardens.
Hit the beach yesterday in St Kilda as it got to 27oC! Lovely! Also checked out Victoria market as its just 100 yards from our accommodation. Its the most colourful and vibrant market ive ever been to and the fruit and veg is soooo nice!
Went for a meal in St Kilda called the Lentil is Anything, whereby you pay what you think the meal is worth. If you think its worth nothing, then all they ask from you is to make someone smile for the day. But it was a very nice veggie curry so worth at least $10!
Talking about food, the previous day we headed to Centre Place which is a lil alley/lane with loads of food stalls and had a scrummy $4 baguette! Melbourne has loads of lanes like Brighton with cheap and cute boutiques and cafes. There are some many places to eat out here your spoilt for choice.
Theres many gothic/victoria styled houses dotted about the city. The artictechure is pretty special as theres a really good contrast of both gothic and new.
Checked out Fitzroy, the Melbourne Museum, Crown Casino, Cooks Cottage and Fitzroy gardens today. Hoping to hire a car a check out the Great Ocean Road at the weekend.
Took the free tram and bus around the city and got court by the officers not paying for the public tram! Oh how it is so much fun to be english!!!
Liked St Kilda, got loads of really nice cake shops! Whoop!
Went to the biggest casino ive ever seen today and it was sooo lush! Never seen anything like it. Its a massive complex, with all forms of gambling machines and races to watch. Also inside is a cinema and loads of restaurants. Hopefully going to check it out at night at some point.
Visited Captain James Cook's house today which was brought over from England to the Fitzroy gardens making it the oldest property in Melbourne.
So many people here either run or cycle around. Theres a jogging path around the botantical gardens of which were hoping to further check out, but they really are uber fit freaks here!! Makes sense with all the gorge cake shops!!
Booked my neighbours tour for Saturday! Whoop! Cant wait!
Heading to the Grand Prix racing track tomorrow which should be good and meeting up with peeps we met from NZ!
So much to say in so little time as my credit warning has flashed up, so i will sign out for now and speak again soon. Love to all xX
