Have a spare 30 mins before having to catch the night train.
Day 3 of trek
Woke up to the c*** crowing around 4am, and laid in my sleepig bag trying to convince myself I was asleep in a huge comfy bed in a room full of luxury (George Clooney being there was a bonus), but no, I was in a rented sleeping bag on bamboo floor in a bamboo hut. Got up and didnt feel to bad ( a lot better then yesterday). Breakfast consisted off Hot Coc and French toast, which was actualy greesey eggie bread, but good all the same.
The walk today was good and I really enjoyed it. There was one big hill, but apart from that was mainly flat or downhill with a few bamboo pole (x3) bridges across the water. I went at my own pace with Pei-ju and Pun Pun. The views were beautiful, and there is something about walking in forrest, jungle whatever, that really makes you feel alive. It took about 4 hours to finish, where we had lunch (with other people/tour groups finishing their treks. By the sounds of it ours was one of the hardest). Then back to Chiang Mai (about 2 hours) and lovely hot(ish) showers. Before the trek everyboday always looked clean, but after coming back and showering everbody sparkled ;-)
Most of the group went out for pizza in the evening (first western food since being here). I had a couple of Kamakazi's and felt very merry. The others carried on drinking, but Pei-ju and myself went to the Sunday market for some bargins. I think Pei-ju wa worried about me as she kept holding on to my arm and making sure I didnt buy anything daft. Had a relaxing foot/leg/head/back massage which was funny as just a row of reclining seats along the road (in the market). Think I may have dozed off as woke up dribberling ;-)
