We left camp just after 6pm with Tyrone and his girlfriend - Alex - a Canadian nurse who works at regional hospital training Zambian nurses.
On the way out of the park we followed wild dog tracks but no dogs, saw where the lion pride were first seen by Tyrone and his dad - near Camesot plain,a vast floodplain and saw a beefing herd of sable grazing - brown females with horns and a magnificent male with enormous horns - Kafue makes can make $1million due to their sought after genes - linked to the giant sable of Angola.
It took over 3 hours to get out of the park - we stopped where we had stopped on the way up for a quick break and a sandwich before making our way into Lusaka.
We checked in at Latitude said our goodbyes; then I caught up with emails, had a very cold swim and went to the spa to get some moisture back into my skin with s scrub and massage.
We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant and an earlyish night as we leave for Zimbabwe at 8 am ( luckily I averted a disaster by ringing the transfer company as they, like Phil & Tyrone had our drop off and collection point as the Taj not Latitude -phew!!)!
