Today's photo is of sunrise over Prince William Sound - from our hotel room in Whittier.
As we were finishing our breakfast at around 0740 John made an announcement, and said that as we were almost packed we would dash for the 8am tunnel opening - otherwise we would have to wait until 9am. We made it, as we drove down into the tunnel area, we were third in the queue and the first car set off......brilliant timing!
We emerged into the sun on the other side and headed off to Seward ......stopping at moose flats - a wetland area but no wildlife - and then at Moose Pass, a small hamlet, where we had a lovely and much needed coffee and loo break.
We arrived in Seward at 1030, but couldn't check in to our hotel, Harbor 360 until 3pm, so we headed along the dock and into old Seward, to see the shops, and the Sealife centre at its furthest point.
We remembered, on seeing it, that we had visited the Sealife centre when we had been on the cruise land tour several years ago. It was a lovely sunny, if a little windy, day and a great day for walking - we stopped for lunch at the furthest point and sat looking over Kenai Fjord.
After lunch and shopping we checked to the hotel only emerging once again to get a hot fudge sundae!
The rest of the evening was snoozing, getting ready for our cruise tomorrow and sorting out my photos.
