JR's European Adventure
Here are some of the things I did this past weekend in beautiful Firenze:
- Went to San Miniato al Monte, a monastery on a hill that looks down into the valley, where I heard monks singing the Gregorian Chant
- Saw Botticelli's Primavera, Birth of Venus, and Titian's Venus of Urbino, in the Uffizi Gallery
- Tried many flavors of gelato- Chocolate Orange is yummy. So is peach.
- Went shopping on Via Tornabuoni, where all the designer shops are- got myself a lovely little Gucci clutch (thanks, Mom and Dad!)
- Amazing group dinner (definitely in our top 5 meals)- started with champagne on the terrace of our hotel, then we moved into the dining room where we had spinach ravioli; veal; and chocolate mousse
- Went to Santa Croce, the church with frescoes by Giotto, a chapel by Brunelleschi, and the tombs of Michelangelo and Machiavelli
- Met up with Ann and Martha for gelato and a walk around the city
One more day here, in which we will go to the Accademia to see the David. I am excited. Then it's on to Venice!

Arda Dec23Peter Quince I can't say I believe drmeas to be honest. It's enough to try to think of black and white sound . But anyway, it's interesting that even though it's not about static or anything, Wallace Stevens is getting at something similar enough in his To the Roaring Wind , which is also short. It ends the collection Harmonium. To the Roaring WindWhat syllable are you seeking,Vocalissimus,In the distances of sleep?Speak it.
