We arrived here on the 27th march driving along the Hume was the same journey as our first venture in aust when we drove to yarrawonga to see bob and vicky in the caravan park they were staying. Stopped in three places fuel at wangarrata and two short stops to stretch our legs. Arrived at caravan park at 9.30am and set up, then drove over to mulwala to shop . Thursday walked to rutherglen to have a look at the shops, bob and vicky arrived at 12md and drove to two wineries all saints and st Leonard's if we had known we would have driven dad down to taste the wine. Friday had hot cross buns for breakfast went to a few more wine tastings as bob was stocking up had tea with bob and vicky came back to caravan and lost all power as we were free camping and we had no idea we had used all our power. Saturday Peter got up early and put the generator on did not please the neighbours so he had to turn it off and put on later. Bob and Peter rode to Stanton and Killeen and Campells to taste some more wine. All Saints Durif best so far had a cheese tasting also very nice. We all went went to Milawa cheese factory and had lunch brought some cheese then went to Brown Bros then on to another winery. I think we have done them all in the region. Was having trouble with the Internet as we must be in the only black spot in rutherglen. but we are back on track.Just catching up now. Easter Sunday Peter listening to Melb v Port he is just as noisy here as he is at home or the MCG Coach no good. We dressed up Peter in a suit and me went for a great meal at Tullouise in Rutherglen where you could Get seven small meals and seven glasses of wine to compliment the dishes all for 79 dollars Peter Lames would really love the taste. We had dinner with Robyn who was a teacher at Mulwala when the children were small and her partner who was the union rep at the factory in mulwala and bob and vicky we walked to and from the caravan park. Did not get up till late went for walk for fresh bread and walked around lake Peter wanted to go on to powered site so we moved caravan. Bob arrived to take Peter to a couple of more wineries Rutherglen and James came back and had cheese and biscuits for lunch and bob and vicky came for tea had BBQ of course. Most nights Peter is having his happy hour over by the lake around the fire see picture
Nothing much happens today quite day walk to town and then nana nap in afernoon did some washing and a quick tidy up.
Thursday 4th
We got up late and had breakfast outside another lovey day and went for a drive in the hills we headed to Tallangatta near lake Hume where the town had been move too when they dam was built across the murray wonderful scenery around steep turns and past spectacular views. We also went through Bonegilla this is where a lot of migrants came and stayed to work on the dam and the snowy hydro. Their was agricultural burns off everywhere. Had a pie for lunch from a local bakery and stopped at Wodonga to buy petrol and a few things that we had forgot.
