Last night was the gala dinner requiring formal dress. With a lot of pulling and tugging I managed to squeeze into the pink dress. We had our photo taken with the captain a small Italian man who reminded me of dad. After the photo we were ushered into the theatre for champagne and canopies. The dinner did not disappoint but had the sense to forego a couple of courses and leave room. The entertainment was an Italian Elvis who sang like Pavarotti without a hint of an accent, so probably better than Elvis himself.
Today we we woke in fujairah and managed to get ashore an hour earlier having burned almost 100 calories in the gym! Fujairah was a bit disappointing. It is where Geoffrey advised us he keeps his boat. We eventually found the gold souk after walking miles with Graham and Cathy navigating and then resorting to a taxi! It was also very disappointing as it was just a row of shops not like the market we had sampled the previous day. We priced up some gold bracelets but they were all too expensive to even haggle.
