Just outside the Dubai shopping centre was the Burj Al khalif the tallest building in the world, named after the Abu Dhabi Sultan who bailed out the cost of the building. The building is so huge I couldn't get all of it in the picture. to take a ride in the lift if booked in advance costs about £80.00!

We visited the Dubai shopping Mall it is the largest in the world with about 2000 shops! The picture shows the massive aquarium with several sharks, we could not quite believe the size of it!

This was the first view of our return to Port Rashid with the old QE2 in the dock, waiting to be converted into a hotel ship. We were told this whole area is being developed for cruise ships as they currently only have room for 3 at present, but recognise that cruising is an up and coming popular area of tourism. There will also be a mass of hotels built, so it will be good to return in 2 years to see the progress.

Photo taken on our second formal night. it seemed that it did not matter whether you wore a short or a long dress for such nights. It provided an opportunity to wear my new dress and the new purple shoes that I rashly bought at Heathrow airport although they hardly show in the photo.
