At 8am we get a 3hr mini-bus to Halong Bay, which is a world heritage site and has over 1000 limestone islands. We were surprised how many boats (100s) were docked in the bay to collect tourists! We got on our boat or 'junk' as they are called and had a really nice sea-food dinner (which was a bit crap if you are vegetarian!). We then sailed to some caves (which were very very touristy), and then went kayacking which was hilarious! It was pissing down with rain, and when we realised that we didn't have a guide we asked where do we go and we were told '..go right' helpful ay?! But the views were breath-taking, especially as it was very misty which added to the effect. We spend the night on the boat in Halong Bay, our cabin was heated and it was the warmest we'd been in weeks!!
