Melbourne was awesome, such a great city, really chilled out vibe and met some great people. Stayed at 3 different hostels, habitat in st kilda being the best. First place i stayed was St anuad in south yarra then habitat and lastly nomads in the city. I think i was at melbourne at the right time, as moomba was on (massive free festival with water sports and music) and also F1! Shame i missed the open, would have been awesome. Melbourne was really easy to get around, got the hang of the trams and numbers within a few days, then i could head anywhere around the city. The beaches were good too, with st kilda beach and elwood beach being nicer! At moomba they did a birdman which was funny but soo hot watching, hit like 38 on that day! Went to a few museums too, victoria art gallery and ACMI which is inside fed square. Both awesome and worth checking out! Now ive been introduced to goon! Really cheap wine which everyone gets smashed on! Not good stuff. Also managed to get a free ticket to the F1 on the thursday which was awesome too see. But move to sydney on the firday so didnt stay for the main race on the sunday. Funny story, went out with a group of about 10 americans, who said they could drink! I got them smashed, we went to mcdonalds and one ended up getting locked in the cleaners office! Was only the fact i heard banging upstairs that anyone knew he was there, Amazing! All in all melbourne is awesome, could easily live there! Everything you need! Next stop Sydney!
