After arriving safely in the ghost town that is Christchurch, I hopped on the Kiwi Experience bus and began my trip of New Zealand!

Because my flight in to NZ was in Christchurch and my flight out is from Auckland, and the nature of the bus pass I got, I had to purchase a flight from Christchurch to Auckland around Christmas time so that wasn't ideal.

The way I'm doing it is first of all looping the South Island anti clockwise from Christchurch to Christchurch. I've already been to Kaikoura, Kaiteriteri, Wesport, Lake Mahinapua and I'm currently in Franz Josef. So I still have Wanaka and Queenstown to go before my flight to Auckland on the 21st.

I will arrive in Auckland on the 21st, spend Christmas in the city, then loop the North Island until my flight to Fiji on the 5th.

The weather in New Zealand is nowhere near Christmas weather, nor Oz weather. It is very sporadic, one day could be super sunny and hot, then hammering it down with rain in the blink of an eye, so it's difficult to dress for.

The internet is pretty expensive out here so I'll keep this short.

When I get to the North Island I'll be looking to do a sky dive when I get to Taupo, tomorrow I'm doing an 8 hour glacier walk, but I'm having to keep activities to a minimum as they're super expensive but I feel that the hike will be worth it and sky diving is a once in a life time opportunity so I couldn't resist.
