Jordi is Off.com
Hello from Brasil,
Just finished a tour round this colorfull country.
This time I did travel with my little sister Neus (hope you see the resemblance...) and two friends from my hometown, Monica and Jordi (which I will call Jordi Chama on the pictures).
We've been all over the place, started in Ilha Grande, between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro... and old pirate's island, no cars on the street and sandy beaches... what a start!
From there we got a bit more adventureous in Manaus, Rio Negro, Rio Amazones and the jungle... fishing piranhas, playing with caymans and spending a night in the jungle... real adventure spiced with few caipirinhas and the essential hammoc and mosquito net and repelents of all kinds...
Next stop was a little town off Belem called Ilha do Mosqueiro, not very touristic, a taste of real Brasil, lots of bicicles and the best maracuja juice ever made on earth...
From there we flew to Fortaleza and Canoa Quebrada, lovely beach town full of artists, buggies, dunes, hippies and good vibrations... and absolute must of the east coast and a place I will love to visit again... and again.
Olinda, close to Recife, was next, hometown of Capoeira and Brasilian music (any kind)...and a very good hostel too!
Last but not least was Salvador the Bahia, a trully experience, music is everywhere, dancing is everywhere, artists of all kinds are everywhere... kids asking for money and selling crafts are everywhere, hence, local police are everywhere too... the energy of these city is something else and despite the hassle is worth a visit anytime cause is magic!
Hope you enjoy the pictures (some of them are made by Neus with my camera).
Many thanks to all of you for cheking on the website and sending me messages (which I will return soon, promise!).
Now I'm off to Argentina, only 8 weeks left so I will try to make the most of it!!
Take care,
Jordi
