Jo's Travels
Hi Folks
Just a quick postcard from what feel like the middle of nowhere - Exmouth! I hadn't realised just how big Australia is. Flew from Sydney to Perth which took FIVE hours! Then flew up to Exmouth on the edge of the Ningaloo Reef to get some diving in. Diving pretty good but still not as good as Mexico/Belize Caribbean area. But saw giant turtles, lots of pretty fish, giant, man-eating moray eels, sea snakes and my first octopuses! Unfortunately I'm just a few days early for the whale shark and manta ray season which would have been great. Weather really hot: 35-40 degrees. Lots of red dust and menacing-looking emus around. Really annoying are the flies though. They are incessant and I even SWALLOWED one! Yuk!!! They just don't leave you alone and want to get in any orifice you leave open/unguarded. Obviously my mouth was the choice. So now I walk around everywhere with my mouth shut. Difficult.
Fly back to Perth today and then Sydney for Thompy's hen-night on Friday. An excuse for a good party I reckon.
Love
Jo
