Utterly freezing leaving Agoudal, wish I had checked the temperature. Must have been at least -5, colder with the wind chill. Had to stop and put my ran on. Arrived in Imilchil at 11ish, just starting to warm up. Bustling town. Too early for lunch though. Grabbed a few supplies and pushed on looking forward to a day of descending. One massive steep drop then fairly flat descent with an annoying head wind. Made such a nice change to see green trees on the northern side of the atlas, such a contrast. Felt like the Rockies. Nowhere to stop for food for miles. 70 miles. Luckily headwind turned to tail for the climb up to Aghbala. Finally a coffee and more egg. Profile showed a bit of flat before a big descent down from 6000 feet to 2300. Wanted to camp down at the lower level to be warmer! The level section had done draggy hills and a horrific headwind, went on forever. Got bored and stopped to check the map, pulled off right into some glass. Another puncture. Sealant was flooding out so I didn’t think it would seal, bit of tape and it sealed nicely! Such amazing stuff!
At long last reached the long descent as the sun was setting. Joined a busy road so lights on for the first time. Loads of dogs on this road trying to chase me at 30mph. Ridiculous! Overtook loads of vans. Didn’t shop around much for a decent camp. Bailed behind a bush on a fairly busy road. Dogs barking loads too. Excited to try out my new alcohol for the trangia, realised I only had 3 matches in a wet match box. Couldn’t light them. Livid. Sardine sandwich and an orange after a hard 97 miles. Overnight oats for breakfast!
