On our way to Flores today, roughly a 4 hour trip from Rio Dulce. Upon arriving we found our rooms weren't quite ready yet as we had arrived a little earlier than planned. This morning Stephanie, Nanne, Dan and myself woke up ready for a Kayak trip to go and see some monkeys at 5:30am. Eventually at 6am our guide turned up, he didn't seem to speak a word of English and just assumed we all knew what we were doing. Today we travelled by private transport to Río Dulce, about an 8 hour trip. It was a little hard to wake this morning to get ready for the trip, however after hearing some of the stories from others that stayed out, I shouldn't be complaining. We stopped on the way for lunch at Hotel El Atlantico. We woke this morning after a very restless night, at 3am being woken by roosters making there crowing noise (apparently the first bus to Guatemala leaves at 3am which wakes them), and on top of that there is some kind of festival on so we were being woken by fireworks every 30 minutes to an hour.
