We have hired a car and are doing a bit of a road trip to Vegas for 5 days! The reason we are staying so long is because it is the same price to stay in a nice hotel in Vegas as it is for us to stay in a hostel in Hollywood! We were supposed to have an economy car but they didn't have any so they upgraded us for free to a big Nissan Pickup! It was a real nice car to drive and super powerful.

Anyway after a 5 hour drive we arrived into Vegas and checked into our hotel, The Stratosphere! It was quite a nice room. We spent the first night relaxing and watching TV as Ian was feeling rough was well now!

The highlights of Vegas were obviously the casions! They were huge, 3 times the size as anything that I have ever seen in Aus and all the drinks are free. They try and make you stay at the slot machines or the tables as much as possible! We went to the MGM and saw the lions and we also drove up and down the strip on several occasions taking in the views. Some of the hotels were absolutley crazy. Mandalay Bay for instance was all gold coloured as was the Hilton! I'm definitly coming back some time when I have a bit more money!

As far as the gambling went, I was up and down really but i think I left up by the end of the 5 days! It was the last day and I thought I would have a bit of a dabble on Roulette. I left the table half an hour later with $168 in my pocket! Now thats some good work if you can find it! In celebration I bought myslef a cocktail from Fat Tuesday. They make daquiris and other icy drinks and serve them in massive glasses! I had a yard of strawberry daquiri with an extra shot of rum! It was so sweet the sugar rush was pretty intense! Ahhh good times!
