Hello everyone!
We had one final night in Singapore as the city began to eat big chunks of the money pot! We decided to give the Singapore Flyer a spin before an expensive night out at Clarke Quay. The Flyer claims to be biggest wheel in the world, I thought it was impressively better than the London Eye! Awesome views.
We booked a coach ride half way to KL to a town called Melaka. The evening before we ldeparted we booked into a hostel named backpackers cozy corner, the room was windowless, which proved to be a bit of problem as there was no morning light to wake us up naturally. Some aussie guy sharing our room happened to get up around 7.20am which luckily woke us up, leaving us 10mins to pack, check out and run to the bus station to catch our 7.30 departure!! Manic.
4 hours up the road we were well into Malaysia for the first time and arrived at Melaka. This town was of course an amazing contrast of way of life to Singapore. The historic town consisted of about 15 museums, unfinished sea front and a bus station. After a long day of museums and walking we found the only establishment serving beer, which was a hotel bar! After a few we were planning to go back and call it a night, but the heavens opened and it rained really hard which left us in the situation of staying there a further few hours on the tiger beer, never mind! Once returned to the guest house we spent 20mins trying to get in to only find we were at the residence next door and awoke an angry local! oops.
Lunch time the next day we took a luxury air con bus to KL 3hrs up the road for about 1.20 pound each! Quite excited to arrive there!!
