Way hey - Christmas Day !! Slightly hungover again but way better than yesterday. Xmas day in a foreign country and a tropical one at that ! Drinkin all day seemed the only logical thing to do. Everyone went to the local Irish bar to start with, good ol' Shenanigans. Who was there...Rob, Ann, PJ, Myself, Michelle, Melissa, Liz, Steph, Donna, Raphael, Brice and Jim. Phoned home and got to speak to the family which is always good on Xmas day, never spent one apart so it was good to talk as they say....Anyway, drinks started flowing and people started getting merry. Moved to an English pub we found called Lord Jim's, wanted a traditional roast but there was none. So what better than Fish and Chips on Xmas Day. Well that was it then....drinks flowing well now. They have a system in Brazil where you walk into a pub and they give you a paper matrix with all the drinks on and they just mark you up when you have a drink and then its pay at the end on the way out or face the 'biggy smalls' type bouncer that most places have. Problem is most places tend not to have prices on the paper so either watch consumption or you can drink yourself into a beating (plus the good ol' Guiness was about 6 pounds a pint). Stayed in Lord Jim's until around 11pm then went to the beach and watched the waves crash in...got back to the hostel in time for Lord of the Rings in portugeuse - very surreal. Then just before bed, had the PJ drunk show in the living room (various repetitions of sentences) with the guard telling us to keep it down several times. Fun times.....
