Day 41 (Sunday 26th November 2006)

My alarm clock (the local mosque and its tuneful prayer songs) woke me up nice and early.

I decided to make this my last day in Lombok, before beginning my trip back to Bali in the morning, so i got in all the snorkeling i could. Unfortunately, like yesterday, the current was stupidly strong before lunch and although i saw loads that morning, the best was to come in the afternoon.

I snorkeled for hours, photographing some more cool stuff. Pretty much the whole cast of 'Finding Nemo' was out…four turtles ("Jellyfish dude") were added to my ever-increasing list, moorish idols (Scar), pufferfish, regal tangs ("Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming") and of course the beautiful Nemo's themselves!

What will i do without any snorkeling for a while??? Look out Aussie sea life here i come…! Im going to miss the tropical island paradise here at the Gili's.

I had my final Lombokian dinner at the posh Beach Café restaurant, which as the name suggests, was right on the beach. the meal and especially the desserts, were scrummy!

Tomorrow i catch the early morning public ferry to Bangsal, then take a shuttle bus to Mataram airport, before flying back to Denpasar, Bali and once there, I'll find somewhere to sleep for two nights in Jimbaran, which looks like as good a place as any to end my Indonesian adventure. Goodbye Gili's…im gonna' miss ya'!!!
