So the last few days have been pretty amazing! Friday was spent on Green Island, a tropical island about an hour ferry ride from Cairns. It was absoultly fantastic! I had the option to go either on a glass bottom boat or snorkel, i chose the boat option and it was really good. We saw lots of wildlife inc a Giant clam just as it caught a fish for lunch! Not something you see everyday! The rest of the day was spent sunbathing and lounging in the sea. Quite sunburn...

My time in cairns is definitely going to quickly, it's already my third day nearly gone! So yesterday I spent the day looking around the town of cairns and the lagoon area. As cairns doesn't have a beach as such, they have built a pool and general chill out area, it's a very nice spot to sit, swim or sunbathe, could easily spent a day in the area! So after 2 flights I finally arrive in cairns panicking as id watched then put the luggage on the plane and didn't see my bag... luckily sure enough it appears on the carosell. While waiting for my transfer to arrive I get chatting to a couple of women who are also backpacking however they must of been in there 50s apparently they went travelling when they were my age and basically havent stopped and don't intend to... its alright for some! So after 2 months on Western Australia its time to move on east! Its been a really great experience for me working and for 3 weeks of it being totally reliant on me! The 3 weeks extra didn't quite live up to expectation as due to trying to conserve money it became more living than travelling and so I'm now more than ready for something new! Spent the last few days in WA on the beach... nothing better!
